Nasarawa United head coach, Kabir Dogo has disclosed that they will beef up the team with ten new players for the upcoming 2017/18 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The Solid Miners finished fifth in the immediate past NPFL season and 2017 Aiteo Cup round of 32 stoppage performances in the hands of Sunshine Stars.
Dogo said his side have been up and doing in their preseason preparations aimed at hitting it very big in the upcoming top-flight.
“We have successfully completed the first and second phases of our preseason preparations we are looking forward to commencing the final closed camping either in Kaduna or Kano.
“A number of players have left us to seek greener pastures elsewhere so we intend to bring in new players as replacement.
“We hope to bring in about ten players, six from outside while four will come from our feeder team.
“The would-be new intakes are attackers and midfielders as these are the areas we lost majority of the players.
“Our defence and goalkeeping are intact so we are unlikely to bring in any new players in those departments.
“We are keeping their names under cover at the moment pending the time the management and technical crew would have finished the paper work involved.
“The management has been nice to me and the players as none at the moment are owed allowances, salaries or other entitlements.
“That’s why we are working round the clock in our preparations for the upcoming season to ensure we compensate their kind gesture with commensurate result.
“We believe that the government and management deserve something better so we will be targeting a continental spot in the coming season,” said the former Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC coach to frontpixs.com.
The Lafia landlords were fifth best in the out gone season on 56 points 10 behind league winners, Plateau United.
