Enyimba going for a double at MFM FC – Bala

Enyimba forward, Reuben Bala has said his side are in Lagos to make it a double against hosts, Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC.

The People’s Elephant are guests of the Olukoya Boys in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 13 clash at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.

The Aba side won the first fixture clash with two unanswered goals against the Lagos side in Aba.

Bala said the seven-time Nigerian champions hope to use the match to assume permanently the leadership of the NPFL abridged group.

“MFM FC are the leaders of the group at the moment and we respect them for achieving the landmark.

“However, the leadership is going to be brief as we intend to use this match to climb to the top of the group.

“MFM FC are difficult side to play especially whenever it comes to playing Enyimba irrespective of where the match is played.

“MFM FC have made the Agege Stadium a slaughter slab for other teams but same thing does not apply to us.

“We beat MFM FC 2-0 in the first fixture clash right here in Aba we intend to make it a double on Sunday in Lagos.  

“We are here in Lagos for nothing but the whole three points at stake aimed at challenging the top spot of the group.

“We are coming all out to play to score the necessary goals not to play to the gallery, we are not wholly out to satisfy the yearnings of the fans but to score goals and win the match,” said the former Plateau United marksman to

Bala said he is earnestly praying for the right time to open his goal account for the two-time African champions.

“Well, I have not scored yet for Enyimba, I’m patient and prayerful, too. I know the goals will come and when it comes it will come in a dozen.

“I pray to start scoring with the match against MFM FC,” Bala said.

Enyimba are second on the 12-team abridged NPFL Group A on 19 points three behind leaders and opponents, MFM FC.
