Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Rivers Angels have promoted the team manager, Matilda Otuene to the position of general manager.
This news is coming on the heel of club’s recent signing of three Ghanaian players ahead of the 2020-2021 NWFL Premiership season.
Otuene took to her social media handles to thank the club for her elevation.

Official now. As l begin a new chapter in my career, as a General Manager, more work, more grace, more win, On Christ the solid Rock I stand, Grace, Grace, Grace.” She posted on her Facebook page.
As team manager of Rivers Angels she led the ‘Jewels of Rivers’ to the 2018-2019 Nigeria Women Premier League triumph and was also recently elected as Chairperson of NWFL Club Owners Association. She also superintended the transfer of the side’s choicest and Super Falcons players like Chiamaka Nnadozie (Paris FC), Tochukwu Oluehi (CD Pozoalbense), and Evelyn Nwabuoku (CD Pozoalbense) to foreign clubs and signing of a partnership agreement with Spanish Reto Iberdorla side, CD Pozoalbense.
