Katsina Utd are NPFL performers – Biffo

Katsina United manager, Abdul Usman Biffo has expressed satisfaction with his debuting side performance in the on-going Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Chanji Boys and top-flight newcomers are seventh on the 20-team elite league log observing the break for the on-going 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.

The Katsina side are due to resume camp for the last lap of the league season on Sunday, June 24, 2018.

Biffo said his side season’s target is intact of finishing among the continental teams at the end of the season.

“Our season’s set goal of top three finishing is still intact notwithstanding our seventh position at the moment.

“Prior to the World Cup break we played more away matches which affected our performance and position as well.

“Upon resumption from the World Cup break we will have more home matches and I’m sure the outcome will greatly add up to our fortune.

“That’s even the reason we are resuming camp ahead of other teams on Sunday for me to have proper assessment of the players before the actual start of the league campaign.

“Of course, everyone knows that the league will be more competitive especially as during the last lap of the season every team dreams continental.

“We had two goals upon resumption of duty at Katsina United, the first target was achieved which was to be among the top 10 teams.

“Right now we have reversed to the second target which is to finish among the top continental teams and I can say so far so good.

“I have a very young team in Katsina United and now they have self-belief that they can rise to the highest height of their career.

“So I do not have any doubt in their ability to deliver the goods at the appointed time.

“I’m quite happy with what we have achieved so far and more positive of what we will achieve by the time curtain fell on the league,” said the former Abia Warriors and Niger Tornadoes coach to frontpixs.com.

The Katsina landlords will be away to fellow newcomers, Go Round FC in Omoku when the league resumes with NPFL matchday 25 fixtures clash.
