The Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha has tasked the new Heartland manager, Fidelis llechukwu that the challenges ahead are enormous as he must work hard to ensure the team take its rightful place in the country’s football circles.
Ihedioha stated this while addressing the coach who was officially presented to him on Monday at the State House in Owerri by the club’s board and management with the General Manager, Chukwudi Ifeanyi pledging he will deliver on the job.
Ihedioha congratulated the coach on his new Job, informing him that there are daunting tasks he must overcome in order to return Heartland to its past glory.
“Though the club escaped relegation last season there is great expectation that the club must rise up to win laurels for the state,” he said.
Ihedioha used the forum to urge the new GM to always remain diligent and patriotic in the discharge of his duties as well as strive to make sure Heartland is outstanding in the new league season.
Earlier the top shot of the club, Chukwudi Ifeanyi said the choice of llechukwu was borne out of rigorous scrutiny and deliberate plan base on his track record at former side, Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM).
The Heartland boss stated that they are convinced the new tactician has what it takes to improve the fortune of the club in the Nigeria Professional Football League adding that he is optimistic with him the club will secure a continental ticket at the end of the upcoming season.
He assured that what he is bringing to the table is success that will see fans who stopped watching the club’s matches return to the stand once again with the envisaged style of scientific football.
The Naze Millionaires had on resumption few weeks back retained 21 players out of the 37 they registered last season and there are plans to hire few new legs to further beef up the team in readiness for the new league season.
