Ibrahim likes NPFL win v Heartland

Wikki Tourists right full back, Mustapha Ibrahim has said he is excited that his side were able to get a win over their perennial nemesis, Heartland.

The Bauchi Elephants piped the Naze Millionaires 1-0 in Saturday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 6 clash at their adopted home ground – Pantami Stadium in Gombe.

Vice captain and striker, Muhammed Idris Guda scored the match winner in the 24th minute of the hotly contested clash.

Ibrahim said the hard fought victory has embolden his side to go for further win when the Bauchi landlords face armed robbery victims recuperating side, FC IfeanyiUbah in the matchday 7 next weekend.

“It was a hard-fighting match, it has been awhile we got a win over Heartland the best we have got was a draw.

“The Owerri side have always dominated past meetings between the sides so I am personally happy we were able to unsettle them this time around to earn the whole three points at stake.

“Every one of us gave the encounter our very best so it well-deserved when our striker, Muhammed Idris Guda scored the winner in the 24th minute.

“Overall we are the better side and ably deserved to win the match.

“The win will greatly help us to face another oriental side, FC IfeanyiUbah next weekend in Nnewi.

“We are not too sure whether the match will hold due to the armed robbery attack on the side but we will continue to intensify our preparations.

“We want to win something substantial this time around so we will continue to give every match our very best,” said the former Nigeria junior international strongman to frontpixs.com.

The hard fought win takes the Bauchi side total earnings to 13 points from possible 18 and second on the log one behind leaders, Plateau United.
