Dogo predicts NPFL win vs Abia Warriors

Sunshine Stars head coach, Kabir Dogo has predicted a resounding victory for his side against visiting side, Abia Warriors.

The Owena Waves are hosts of the Umuahia Warriors in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 23 clash at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure.

Prior to the NPFL matchday 23 matchup the Akure landlords were trashed with three unanswered goals at newcomers and hosts, Warri Wolves while the Umuahia side outpunched neighbours, Akwa United 2-1 in Umuahia.

Dogo said his side are condemned to get resounding victory against the challengers from Umuahia having failed to claim decent results in the side’s past three matches.

“We have forgotten the loss at Warri Wolves to pay undivided attention on the clash against Abia Warriors.

“Incidentally, the results of our last three matches have not been very good meaning that we must change the narrative.

“For the Sunday’s clash against visitors, Abia Warriors I think we have worked very hard to expect a decent result.

“We have spoken to the players on the importance of winning the match and they have promised to deliver the goods.

“I think the new found unity among the players and the return of some injured players to our fold will work to our favour.

“We have full complement of the players to choose from and I believe the best legs will be handed the starting shirts.

“I think we are mentally and psychologically ready for the match and quite hopeful the result will go in our favour,” said the former ABS FC and Nasarawa United tactician to

Sunshine Stars are fifth on the 20-team top-flight log on 31 points nine behind league leaders, Plateau United.
