Niger Tornadoes captain and goalkeeper, Mustapha Aliko has assured of a convincing victory against visiting Guinean side, Santoba FC de Conakry.
The Ikon Allah Boys are hosts of the West African opponents in Saturday’s Caf Confederation Cup first round clash at the adopted ground, Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
Aliko said his side know quite well the expectations of Nigerians and are more than ever determined to put smiles on the faces of fellow country men and women after the encounter.
“We are going all out for a convincing victory tomorrow (Saturday) against the Guinean opponents, Santoba FC de Conakry.
“We have worked extremely hard for the clash, we have equally blended quite well and we are determined to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians.
“This stage of the competition is almost a knockout, now we are playing at home we will want to maximise the whole opportunities to score as many goals as possible so as to make the reverse fixture more or less a mere formality or novelty match.
“Yes, we do not know the visitors, however we have done our own part of the bargain by steeling ourselves for whatever banter they will throw at us.
“I’m sure we will get it perfectly right to get good result that will make it a lot easy in the second leg,” said the Niger Tornadoes shot stopper to frontpixs.com.
Winners of the two-legged encounter are expected to face the Ivorian side, FC San Pedro in the second round of Africa’s second tier interclub competition.
